Aida Algarin is a birth & postpartum doula and childbirth educator. Aida earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bryant University in her home state of Rhode Island. Over the course of ten years, Aida worked in business development for an international company both in the US and in Europe. In 2001, she relocated to North Carolina where she later gave birth to her two youngest children at a local army hospital.
After taking a career hiatus due to a high-risk pregnancy and later experiencing breastfeeding challenges of her own, Aida’s interest and passion in supporting expecting mothers and new parents naturally led her to a new career path. Aida completed labor and postpartum doula training and she currently facilitates one of the largest breastfeeding support groups in the Fayetteville/FortBragg area. Aida’s professionalism, compassion, and expertise in communication contribute to her ability to both effectively support mothers within the intimate space of their birth room and help expecting parents in building a foundational learning through childbirth education.
Aida is experienced in providing unbiased and compassionate support in: guiding expectant parents through different birth options, unmedicated and medicated births, labor coaching, newborn and infant care, sibling care, baby-wearing, cloth diapering, breastfeeding, and bottle-feeding. Aida is CPR & First Aid certified through the American Heart Association and is a member of North Carolina Breastfeeding Coalition and Breastfeeding Coalition of Cumberland County.
